Advocacy is the cornerstone of the credit union movement. It unites our industry and makes us a powerful force in Albany and Washington, D.C. Under normal circumstances, we would be gearing up for our State Governmental Affairs Conference and the CUNA GAC. While we can’t meet in person this year, our advocacy efforts will not stop.

• Albany: The New York Credit Union Association will kick off our Virtual Advocacy Tour on Feb. 22. Join us as we hear key state-level legislative updates and connect virtually with some of the most influential policymakers in state government. Our virtual meetings with state lawmakers will continue throughout the week of Feb. 22.
  
  
• Washington, DC: We’ll take a break on our state visits during March 1-5 for the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, which will bring together credit union advocates from across the country. The event will feature general sessions, a virtual trade show and meetings with our Congressional leaders.
  
  
• New York State: Following the CUNA GAC, we’ll return — virtually — to Albany to continue our meetings with state lawmakers during the remainder of the month.

*Note: There is no charge to attend the Association’s state-level advocacy events. CUNA GAC is a separate, virtual conference, which requires registration and payment. More information on CUNA GAC can be found here.
