This session will provide an overview of the current trends and state of the marketplace for cyber liability insurance.  Attendees will learn the basic fundamentals of how policies are designed to respond to a data breach scenario, as well as common pitfalls that organizations make when utilizing their policies.  The marketplace continues to be dynamic due to increased claim activity.  The presenters will walk through the changes that are taking place in the current environment and focus on how organizations can highlight their risk profile to achieve the best outcome at the time of their cyber liability insurance renewal.

With her extensive banking experience, Ms. O'Gorman founded a successful consulting firm, DX Consulting, in 2014 which specializes in Cannabis Banking Compliance. Since 2015, along with her consulting practice, Ms. O’Gorman has served as the CEO of The Fourth Corner Credit Union (4CCU). 4CCU is first credit union chartered in over 15 years in the state of Colorado. Most recently, Deirdra and her business partners founded Empyreal Enterprises, a new type of armored transport company that works to provide cash transit, processing and compliance solutions using technology at its core.

In 2016, Deirdra was named one of 20 “People to Watch” in the cannabis financial services industry and has been featured in articles by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, CNN and more. She is considered one of the foremost experts on banking and compliance for highly regulated industries. Through her work, she has become a nationally known speaker and can be found working with financial institutions, regulators, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and attorneys who are looking to gain a better understanding of emerging markets.

Overall, Deirdra is a definitive, results-driven, tenured executive with extensive experience leading both senior and junior professionals, organizing and executing new initiatives, and building profitability.

IsaacsonJay Isaacson, Vice President, P&C Solutions

Jay Isaacson is the vice president of P&C Solutions and International Division for CUNA Mutual Group. In this role he leads commercial insurance underwriting, which includes credit union protection. He is responsible for the overall strategy, execution, and financial results for the commercial underwriting organization.

Jay is also responsible for strategic leadership of international operations including strengthening the company’s brand, reputation and value in the credit union and affinity markets it serves. He is responsible for the consolidated financial results of the various subsidiaries and branch operations.

Isaacson joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2011. He has more than 20 years of experience in the management and underwriting of financial institutions. In his first year at CUNA Mutual Group, Isaacson earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group, Isaacson worked in various roles at Travelers insurance.

Isaacson graduated from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

LaczniakDerek Laczniak, Senior Account Executive/Director of Cyber Liability/Partner, M3 Insurance

Derek Laczniak is a senior account executive and partner at M3 Insurance. Specializing in property and casualty insurance, he assists clients in the design and implementation of their risk management programs, ensuring their coverage continues to meet their changing needs.

In addition, Laczniak serves as a director of cyber liability. He has created a proprietary risk assessment strategy that helps quantify overall cyber risk exposure for all organizations, with a strong focus on traditional and high-tech manufacturing as well as technology companies.

Laczniak is a recognized leader in the cyber security risk management landscape. His subject matter expertise includes network security, network infrastructure and security exposure. In his director role, he serves as a cyber security strategist and advisor for organizations of varying sizes and scopes, helping them manage risk through preventative controls and formal risk transfer mechanisms. He also shares his knowledge and experience through numerous speaking engagements, blogging and business publications.

A refund of the amount paid, less an $70 administrative fee per registrant, will be given for all cancellations submitted via email to events.training@nycua.org ten or more business days prior to the start of the session. No refunds will be granted if the cancellation is received after that time frame. Substitutes will be accepted any time prior to the start of the program at no additional cost.
