In the Eye of the Beholder: Understanding the Increasing Expectations for the Supervisory Committee

Fraud, Self-Dealing and Conflicts, Oh My!

Everyone hopes their credit union will be a well-oiled machine that avoids the drama and anxiety we often read about in the headlines.  Unfortunately, hopes don’t always match with reality and your Supervisory Committee needs to be prepared to deal with the dark side of credit union operations.   Regulations require that the SC protect the credit union from error, conflict of interest, self-dealing and fraud.  What does that look like in a modern credit union and how can you do it while maintaining harmony and good will.   This session will explore each of these negative events and provide easy to deploy, common sense methodologies for managing the risk.   From required policies to little known audit additions, you don’t want to miss this common sense approach to a difficult topic.

A refund of the amount paid, less an $90 administrative fee per registrant, will be given for all cancellations submitted via email to ten or more business days prior to the start of the session. No refunds will be granted if the cancellation is received after that time frame. Substitutes will be accepted any time prior to the start of the program at no additional cost.
