Credit unions are not-for-profit financial institutions created to serve their members and communities. They share their earnings with their members through better savings and loan rates, as well as generally lower fees than banks. Surveys consistently rank credit unions first among financial institutions in consumer satisfaction. And more than 100 million people in the U.S. belong to a credit union!

There are nearly 400 credit unions across New York State. You'll find them throughout rural areas and metropolitan hubs, serving a wide range of employer groups and communities. If you have a family member who belongs to a credit union, you're automatically eligible for membership, too.
