As a result, your institution needs to be ready to act immediately to protect its interests. This webinar will explain the key aspects of commercial bankruptcy proceedings and the steps to take so you’re not caught flat-footed when a borrower files for bankruptcy.
This timely training will also identify various best practices depending upon the type of bankruptcy, including the completion of proofs of claim and protecting cash collateral. In addition, this program will address common avoidance or “claw-back” actions that may be implemented by a trustee or other authorized party and potential defenses related to such actions.

Speaker: Eric Johnson, Spencer Fane LLP
Eric Johnson is a partner at Spencer Fane LLP. He represents financial institutions in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy insolvency proceedings, such as receiverships and foreclosure proceedings, out-of-court workouts and restructurings, and other insolvency matters. For over 20 years, Eric has represented almost every constituency in insolvency proceedings, including trustees, receivers, lenders, debtors in possession, buyers of distressed assets, creditors’ committees, trade creditors, landlords, and defendants in insolvency-related litigation. He is a member of the panel of Chapter 7 trustees for the Western District of Missouri and has served as a federal equity receiver. He holds a bachelor’s from the University of Northern Iowa and a JD from the University of Iowa College of Law.
