NYCUA’s Mellin Congratulates Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, Named Next Democratic House Leader

Following the election of U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, who represents New York state’s 8th District, to succeed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Democratic leader of the House of Representatives, New York Credit Union Association President/CEO William J. Mellin issued the following statement:

 

On behalf of the New York Credit Union Association and the state’s 300+ credit unions, I congratulate Rep. Hakeem Jeffries on his historic election as the next Democratic leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Jeffries has proven himself to be a friend of credit unions and a thoughtful and dynamic leader. His skills will now be an asset not just to New York state, but the entire country. NYCUA and our members look forward to continuing our partnership with Rep. Jeffries to protect and improve the financial well-being of all New Yorkers.
